Dr. Moore has held many positions over her four decades at Georgia Tech in addition to being Professor in Sociology and History (History, Technology, and Society). Her area of specialization is Medieval History with an emphasis on Medieval English History. She also taught Ancient Greek and Roman History. In her last position as Assistant Vice Provost in Academic Affairs (2015) she helped create the website to report student academic grievances/concerns and resolved them. She also was instrumental in revising the Faculty Handbook and the processes of promotion and tenure.
For thirteen years she was Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs which included handling all of student discipline matters and she still works closely with the Dean of Student’s Office. In addition, she was the Director of the Oxford Study Abroad Program until 2021 which has been a highly successful program for over 25 years. Dr. Moore also has won numerous student awards – First Women of Distinction, ODK Friend of the Students, SGA and GSU Administrator of the Year, and others. She has been a strong advocate for students throughout her career.
She will bring an intimate knowledge of Oxford, England and its environs as well as coordinating the student portion abroad in time tested locations to students. She has shepherded thousands of students who have studied abroad. Her enthusiasm and knowledge will be easily conveyed to the students in this inaugural fall in Oxford. The faculty and she will provide a stimulating academic experience against the background of England and Europe
